WEBSITE

The idea for this website came up when I was in search of Torah emails to subscribe to and learn from.

It was a disjointed process as there was no central place to search for available emails.

My goal with the Maayan HaTorah website is to compile a variety of Torah resources from which to learn.

These include a selection of handpicked websites, Rabbis, weekly emails, WhatsApp groups, videos and audio recordings.

This is not a stagnant website. It will grow organically over time as additional content is added.

I hope you will find the resources here helpful and meaningful.

WEEKLY EMAIL

A friend of mine said to me that there are enough intellectuals writing and teaching today. If I want to share something, make it genuine.

I am not a Rabbi, educator, writer, therapist, guru, coach, speaker or columnist.

I just feel like I'm holding gold with the Torah ideas I study. And by sharing the gold with you rather than keeping it to myself it becomes even more valuable.

My intent with the weekly email is to give you something meaningful to think about by focusing on our relationship with Hashem and considering positive changes in our lives.

I strive to give hope, positivity, and inspiration.

Why I'm Doing This

Someone asked me why I am sending out the weekly emails.

The self-serving reason I am sending it out is because I am really writing this for myself. The learning, thinking, and research benefits me directly by giving me chizuk (strength) and a sense of personal fulfillment. I look at it as if the message is a letter to me and I’m just letting you in on what I’m telling myself. And by sharing it with you, I am committing myself to the process. I’m holding myself accountable by emailing you.

The second, altruistic reason why I am sending out the weekly email is that I feel if even one person has a positive takeaway from my message, then it was worth the time and effort to put it together.

Please note, the Torah thoughts in it are a compilation of insights from different sources and Rabbis. If there are mistakes, they are purely mine.

I will say that I am very far from internalizing the Torah I share, but I use it as a guiding light to do my best and try a little better each day. I am speaking to myself in these emails more than to anyone else. If the tone sounds preachy, it is directed at me, not you.

My goal is to spread Torah and a message to inspire change.

Sincerely,
